According to the book, I've ID'ed it as an imm. Pacific Gull.
This bird is more like the later model Mk11 spitfire with painted yellow nose cone.

Lovely photos with great lighting on the wings. I'd like to see more like this.

Thanks George. These were shot last week at Opossum Bay, South Arm shortly after sunrise at the same location where I found the New Holland Honeyeaters. "The Spit" in the distance is a breeding sanctuary for seabirds and is a no go area for people.
