at the fanning river here in qld , we have been back to the same spot for two years now and they are there at this time of year. its in the back of nowhere very quiet , this was last years photo on the water
They are just beautiful, I have not seen one in the wild,I found one in a Safeway store once. People just stepped over him, I put him in a box and took him to the local vet. They are tiny and look a bit out of proportion, the feet are small, and the head is so big.I love the colours of your photos, the blue is stunning! M-L

I love photography.
One of my favourite birds but for me they're like ghosts: often talked about but rarely seen. It's wonderful to know there are still places in Australia where the habitat is healthy enough for them to exist.
WOW the colours are so bright - not good for camouflage I guess??
