Wonderful shot. You've captured the blue on the face and the olive on the feathers. Five or six immatures flew in to our banksia this morning and while I was getting the camera they flew away again ... one by one!
Thanks, they are pretty tame on the Strand. That makes a close approach easy. Sometimes I get some funny looks carrying the 100-400L along the beachfront... :-)
Very nice, ed. Your shot shows the blue face to perfection. My family and I have just returned from Noosa where I got similar looks when carting around the 100 - 400. Blue-faced HE were quite tame there too.
