Wow, a freckled duck! Aren't they seasonal migrators and visitors?! What a great experience to see some. They look beautiful, and so does the ibis, I have only ever seen the straw necker flying in the sky.
Congrats on the Freckled Duck shots.
Beautiful colours on the ibis George well done. I would love to see a Freckled duck myself but they are a bit hard to come by in Bundy. Nice work.

Hi George, love the straw necked Ibis, never seen one before, nor the freckled duck. thanks for sharing....actually double thanks because you jogged my memory re. Edithvale wetlands, I passed there in the car a few weeks back and made myself a note in the phone to visit as I saw they have hides there, then my dog chewed phone and it died and I couldn't remember the name of the place!
Not doing very well with phones ...last one got drowned whilst taking pics of welcome swallows!!

Just a few questions Hev, 1) How does a dog get your phone? and 2) How do you get your phones drowned looking at swallows? I really want to make a trip to a wetland, too bad the closest one is probably in QLD!
Hi Amateur, I reposted the pics on flickr to explain phone death no.1 (no pain no gain thread)Second one naughty kelpie nibbled charger wire I repaired and connected the two wires up wrong and it blew up the motherboard (whatever that is!... but could not be repaired!)
As for wetlands... you must have one nearer to you than Queensland....
