Tonight's edition of Catalyst on ABC1 featured an item about the investigation into the structure of cicada & dragon fly wings with the aim of preventing infections from titanium implants in humans. On the surface the two issues would seem to be poles apart but the thing that struck me was how critical the preservation & restoration of our biodiversity is to our economy & general well-being. We wreck Nature at our own peril.
