Happy Easter everyone. Hope you got to do some birding over the past few days. I had an exhausting weekend running an activity at Centennial Park for 1000 kids! (and no sign of the Powerful Owl which had been sighted recently )
One more day off though and that made me feel HAPPY - so that is the theme for this week. Post a photo of a bird (or birds) that to you, look happy and are geniunely enjoying their day.
Lets limit it to 3 photos per person this week.
Share your joyous, happy photos.
Well, here is my little friend the Golden whistler. He was sitting in the sun and whistling very happily to himself, and when his little girlfriend flew up next to him he trilled out beautifully and hopped all around her, as if he had been away from her and had missed her. If you look closely enough I think he is even smiling :)
made me smile, Elsie

To have three completely different types of birds together on the same bird bath makes not only me very HAPPY to see but I could only imagine how content and HAPPY they must be to be able to share in peace with each other .

OK having been kicked along by Shoop here is my second happy contribution. Looks like he's amused by something.
This Buller's Albatross looks grumpy, albatross always look grumpy, but "happily" waited for any scraps we threw it.
Dale Huonville, Tasmania
She looks "happy" to me.
(but then again, happiness obviously can have different meaning to different people and birds(?)

Oh that duck is gorgeous Rick, I so love ducks they can be so photogenic. He certainly looks very amused about something.
Dale, oh I am green with envy at your Albatross photos. Last time we took the boat over to Rotto ( here in WA) I had my camera in hand just waiting to get a glimpse of one , but no such luck. I still have yet to mark that one off my list . They remind me of when my kids were little and at birthday parties they would put their party hats over their mouths pretending to be a bird . It so looks like a permanent elastic line they have attached to their beaks .
