Deju, if you can find information on what used to grow naturally in Sydney's inner west then you'll stand the best chance of attracting birds that used to live naturally in your area. Perhaps your local council would be helpful. In SA we have Trees for Life which encourages people to grow indigenous plants. If NSW has a similar organisation then it would probably be able to provide information. You might also consider browsing the book store at the Botanic Gardens (if they have a book store) & the gardening sections of reputable bookstores for books on the native vegetation of Sydney.
