Cattle Egrets in breeding plume

Went to Diddams Park at Loganholme this morning where there is a massive egret rookery including all four varieties and thousands of nests, including other bird species. The Cattle Egrets grabbed my attention, particularly those in full breeding plume. They are a sight to behold!

Fantastic stuff Alacatraz especially love that last shot

I see a few of these in recent years in the Bunbury area of south west. Though I have  never seen them in breeding plummage.

Really look like a different bird

I think the last one is closely related to Art Garfunkel!

Great shots Murray as I find they are hard to get a good shot of, see plenty off them around the paddocks but as soon as I pull up and get the camera out they take off. They are even more impressive in their breeding plumage, # 3 is my favourite.

Yep, have had the same experience in the paddocks with cattle, although I do have a nice shot with one next to a cow's head!
