I'm a Danish birder, who went to Australia in October 2019, and as I'm now sorting out my photos, this duck causes me id problems. Is this a chestnut teal female or a grey teal? The photo was taken in the Lockyer Valley area.

Hi Thomas, I hope you enjoyed your time is Australia. Your bird is a Grey Teal, although I cannot advise sex.
The light colouring on the lower face and chest is the give away. A female Chestnut Teal would be much darker in those areas.
