I'm currently reading Mary Ellen Hannibal's Citizen Scientist, a great read about the critical role citizen scientists play in data collection which may lead to prevention of species extinction.
I came across this in the book in relation to climate change: "...it feels like we are watching an egg roll off a counter and nobody will say it's broken till it's on the floor."
