A Cormorant who had eyes too big for it's mouth

A few weeks back I was able to capture the following where I was probably in the right place at the right time. The longest lens I had at the time was a 75mm so they are heavily cropped but they turned out well, but more importantly it captured the moment.

What great shots Bromo definitely in the right spot at the right time. Awesome action shots. What a guts he is, well is suppose why not have lunch and dinner at the same time. I cant believe the size of his throat in the last shot, the fish is still just sitting in there reminds me of a penguin in that shot. Thanks for posting them.

Wow what great action shots..... good timing Bromo.  I cant imagine how uncomfortable it must be to have a huge fish that size wriggling around in your undersized gullet!!

You must have been totally rapt to get that moment !

These are wonderful shots.  You were lucky to see this, and get pics too.

Thanks all.  I was really pleased to be able to get them even though there is some over-exposure and some are not fully sharp.   Its just something you dont see very often.  Sadly I think the Cormorant died, though I cant be sure.  A few days after this there was a dead Cormorant in the river though it didnt appear to have anything big in its throat but i guess the fish dis some damage on the way down.  Thats just a guess though.

Thanks again for the kind comments.

Oh dear, how sad Bromo if that is the case. I guess it may not have been as natural for it to take something as big as that?
