Crappy shots, But

You have got to love an encounter of these Wrens. Cattai wetlands.

Nice to get both the male and female Shorty. They are very challenging birds to photograph.

Yes, crappy, but a lot better than my efforts on this bird lately :-)

Nice to see them and what a tail!

These are very poor crappy photos :) .... I could have got much crappier shots than these !!  I would have at least got a twig covering the eye.

Fantastic birds - well done to get them.

I spent a fair few hours trying to catch these the other day and didn't come up with anything nearly as good as this!

Great sighting, I have only seen these once and didn't get a photo. The photos may not be the best but at least you got photos.

How on Earth can these be crappy shots, rawshorty? The birds are in focus, aren't they? You take amazing photos, rawshorty. Even your "crappy shots" as you call them are still amazing. I can't keep the camera still to take decent photos of birds less than 30 feet away from me. All my photos are coming out blurry.

I'm at Tenterfield, NSW. (Formerly known as "Hyperbirds".)

I agree that these aren't crappy shots so much as a notoriously uncooperative subject

Thanks all, one day i'll get one in the open (maybe). This is the 4th location i have found them so will have to keep trying.

Shirley, The focus is a little off and too many branches in the way but i did enjoy trying to get them in the clear. My favorite little bird.

Are you able to crop the shots to close in on the birds, as that would make them far more visually appealing? There's nothing wrong with them overall, other than the extraneous braches etc are distracting. I would then perhaps go so far as vignetting the birds to make them even more dominant.

Quite a feat to capture male and female. I love this little ones but they never seem to be clear of twigs and such. Cattai Wetlands seems to be a good place to find them. Sue

Nice sighting. Probably a while yet before I get to head out to an area where they are present

Ray, already at 90% crop so not much hope for them.

Sue, yes it was just good to see them. First time i have been to Cattai but i will return :)

Ryu, maybe try to organise a COG trip to Barren Grounds ;)

I'd be happy with these. As Tim said at least you got them. I know what you mean though, I have started becoming very fussy with my photos. My goal is at least get a recognisable photo and then keep working at it from there. Would love to see these little guys one day
