Exciting first sighting for me of Southern Emu Wrens at Tuggerah NSW Central coast. The sun was hitting them from behind but did give a nice effect on the delicate the tail feathers. In the same spot, just before seeing the wrens, i had just my second sighting of a tawny grassbird.

Two great finds WD, particularly like that second shot.
Congratulations WD and as always thanks for sharing such fabulous photos
Like Brian I have to pick the second one as my favourite though profile first shot is a close second
Dont take life too seriously, it never ends well
Great work WD, you must have been pleased :)

Congrats on a great find and on such great shots WD. I like the 4th last one the best I would have to say :P
Thanks Wollemi, detritus & Devster for the comments.
Just to prove birding is "a funny old game" - just 4 days after getting my first ever sighting of southern emu wrens, i went to a different location 100kms south and most unexpectedly got my second southern emu wren sighting!
