Female Regent Bowerbird

This female Regent Bowerbird wandering around a picnic area in Dorrigo National Park.  When I approached her to take a shot she squats down with her wings out and plays "injured."

After a few minutes of that she very slowly rolled her head over on to one shoulder and shut her eyes,  playing dead.   Awwww, poor little bird.

was the bird injured? I have seen birds do that while having a dust bath.

or playing injured /dead when they have young nearby
