Avatar - how to add?

I am having considerable problems trying to add an avatar.

The upload avatar function does not work. An uploaded avatar does not show up.

I then created an account with Gravatar and that works somewhat, but I am not happy with the resolution.

There is no information on the maximum avatar size.

Perhaps the admin can address and resolve these matters and provide step by step instructions.

Normally a maximum avatar size is stated and an upload avatar function works.

Thanks.

I will have a look for you FBF.

The upload should be working so I will investigate.

Thanks Holly. Also is there any way to remain logged in?

Don't think so FBF

I have been promising it for a while but we are investigating ways to upgrade the forum at the moment - hopefully it isn't too far away now.

Holly phpBB is very good and free. You should be able to replicate the visual layout presented here, and have the benefit of a tried and tested board - phpBB.

The costs of the site would be minimized, by not paying for the use of proprietary board software.

I have used phpBB to showcase some of my 3D gaming artwork. I created 3D gaming maps which I released for free.

A fully functional, robust, and feature rich board, is how I would describe phpBB. I would recommend such for consideration.

Alternatively, the current board here need merely to add code to enable cookies to remember users, thereby enabling automatic logon.

I think the max resolution of avatars here is 150 pixels and this would be ideal, to properly show mine.

Cheers.

Holly, I still can't add an avatar by using the upload function "Upload Avatar (gif, jpg, and png):" - why?

Thanks.
