Denis, my butcher bird youngster seems to be fine at work but you may be interested to read this article published in the Sunshne Coast Daily this week. It's good to know that they consider this type of story newsworthy, especially with all the focus being on the great recession at the mmoment.

Lawn Grub Spray again
I couldn't get to the story from the link but found it nontheless, and an interesting read, but was I found more interesting & not in a good way, was the comments from some of the locals.
Thanks for the Lawn Grub spray update.
I agree with Birdyboys. There are some stupid people out there, unfortunately.
There was a story about water poisoning from Macadamia farms adjacent to the Noosa River. How anyone can joke about these issues is beyond my understanding.
Cheers

Hi again Denis
I replied to this in the wrong post but am sure you will find it. On a similar note, I recieved a call last week from a pest control company who wanted to come and do a treatment inside and out of our rented home, for spiders and cockroaches. She got quite snotty when I told her I didn't require her invasive poisons in my home. I rang the real estate agent and she was laughing that i was in the minority.
OUr garden is a haven for hundreds of dragonflies among others and I would never put them at risk or my birds.
I know these are no bird images but it is nature in my backyard
cheers

Hi Birdie
I am with you on the Poisons issue.
Sometimes I relent, and use something, but I try to be very careful with it, for myself and my little dog.
I have long since given up using nasty sprays in the yard, for it does get to the birds, eventually.
Lovely Dragonfly shot.
Very artistic, as well as a very nice Dragon.
Cheers

Yes he is rather lovely isn't he? ( or she I wouldn't know)
we get so many different ones here and they seem to breed and congregate around one particular tree at the beginning of summer. Now that is a photographic challenge - trying to use autfocus with a flying dragon or hundreds of them! We mainly get the red ones aswell as this type.
