I was listening to the bird man on RRR this morning. He says that the spotted pardalotes have diminished significantly in numbers in Victoria this Winter.
I cannot recall seeing one for some time. Are there any Victorians here who have noticed any decline in numbers?
What about in other states?

HI Soakes
I'm north of newcastle NSW and have this little fellow nesting in the rock wall
Most small birds are struggling to survive in diminishing urban habitats.
G'day soakes, I'm in Blackburn and I have not noticed a reduction in their numbers. I was out in our local park doing a little forensic photography for Tark this morning and heard plenty of them.
Cheers,
George

Hi soakes and George, in doing a little homework I came upon this interesting page re. Peter Murrell State Nature Reserve, about 30 minutes south of Hobart wherein reside a small population of endangered spotted pardalotes - Weather permitting, Sandra and I are heading there on Monday and hope to capture a card full before they disappear.

I saw a couple this morning at the Hunter Wetlands Centre.
no photo, just a blur.. ha ha.. :(
