bird deaths centennial park

Hi all,

found this article on botulism killing some of the birds in Centennial Park in Sydney. thought it might be of interest:

Interesting mate, thanks for sharing.

Botulism is also causing deaths of many birds on the Tuggerah Lakes on NSW central coast.

You can thank decades of chemical and industrial run off for these issues. It's the poor innocent wildlife who invariably end up suffering.

Hi Magpie

I am interested in the issue of water contamination (in another capacity).
Can you please send me any info or links to media reports.

Hi Denis
I have no official documentation myself, but I am involved with wildlife rescue and have heard about this problem as pelicans in particular seem to be affected.

Search google for "tuggerah lakes botulism" and also contact Australian Seabird Rescue as they are generally the ones that end up with the ill birds.

Here is one article which even mentioned a dead albatross being found there.
