Hi Everyone, can anyone help me, I am looking to find a bird reserve/sanctuary around the Newcastle area ( I think ).
I may have read about it here a long time ago and the place I am thinking of was the finishing point for a Twitchathon (sp) that was televised one night on the ABC ( I think ).
Sorry if that all sounds a bit vuage, the reason I am looking for this location is to possibly go there as an outing with my local camera club, we have quite a few members who are interested in bird photography.

I think I saw the same doco you are talking about, early last year sometime. I also grew up in the Newcastle area. I think the place was the Hunter Wetlands centre at Shortland http://www.wetlands.org.au.

It is apparently a good area for bird photography.
