Hi Rainbow, yes I to have the noisy critters feeding time is so noisy and they bully the King Parrots away. I'm still trying to send pics but to no avail.

G'day. Yes I to have the beautiful Rainbow lories when the gum trees in my garden are flowering. We also have the Musk Lories. They love it when the Mallee is flowering.

Cheers

Kathy

These are great little birds. They're a really typical 'cheeky aussie' parrot. Noisy, messy, mischevious and full of personality.
We get them by the bucket full. Though I don't have much of a yard to encourage them to come visit.
I do see other species flying in with the Rainbow Lorikeets from time to time, like Scaley-breasted and Musk Lorikeets. You have to have a sharp eye or a good set of binoculars to make out these other guys sometimes, but well worth it.

We have them in our ghost gum in the back yard and they nest in the palm trees next door as well. They congregate and roost in two major places here in Perth. One is at the airport and two,at Cottesloe Beach, the noise of literally thousands of them in the pine trees at sunset is near deafening.
