Hoary-headed Grebe

My first sighting of this species in my area. It was on a neighbour's dam with 2 grey teal & an Australasian grebe.

That's great Woko, any photo? I have seen some not that far away from here, but all my photos are of the Australasian Grebe. But now I will go looking for them.

It's feral grass management time here, Araminta, so my camera is in warm storage for the time being.

You will have to explain that a bit more to me. What am I missing? Am I getting slow?

Araminta, it's probably my obscure way of saying that I haven't been using my camera lately as my outdoors time is fully taken up with spraying & mowing feral grasses at the moment.

Good for you Woko for your first sighting. But be careful with all that spraying you will never no , what else you could harm? As Iam sure you have read about what's happening in the U.S. with bees etc....

See it!  Hear it!

You're so right, Darin. Before spraying or mowing I check the area for any lizards, snakes, birds nests & hidden native plants. One can't be too careful.
