These pigeons were going round and round in SE Queensland. I notice that they all have identification rings of some sort. Are they homing pigeons or just being monitored for some reason? Thanks.

They're homing/racing pigeons or Rock Doves or Feral Pigeons. Whatever, their name they pose a serious threat to native pigeons & doves as well as to Rock Parrots on sections of Australia's coast line.
