Honeyeater, possibly brown

In my garden in Healesville, Victoria we have New Holland Honeyeaters and Spine Bills.

We have a new small brown honeyeater who arrived four weeks ago , has built a beautiful nest in our small Lilipilly bush and mum is now sitting on 3 eggs. Both male and female are brown with light yellow/white streak underneath and behind the eyes. Research says that brown honeyeaters aren't in Victoria. Any thoughts on what it can be?

It could be a yellow-faced honeyeater?

Top is a photo of a brown honeyeater.

The Yellow-Faced Honeyeater (Bottom) has as a bigger yellow band under the eye.

Sorry it is the only photo of a yellow-Faced HE I have. I will have to take some more.

Hope this helps.

Three eggs from the yellow faced honeyeater hatched on Christmas day. All three chicks left the nest on 7th Jan (a little shakily for the smallest one!!). Mum and Dad doing a great job to keep them fed and building up strength.

It has been exciting to watch.
