Well down at the Collie Rivermouth again chasing that recently spotted hawk. It didnt start well and I guess we have all been in that first photo position of "Yes that is the bird im chasing"
Though i did manage to track him down and get a better shot (Though i like to get closer)
(Im guessing its a collared sparrowhawk, can anyone confirm??)
Also those rare Curlew visitors were back and proving as elusive as the hawk.
Why they cant be as accomodating as some of locals including Ospreys, Heron and a Magpie Lark. I just dont know :)
Finally a total fluke of shot when a patrolling osprey and a Pelican on takeoff circuits intersected

I rekon Brown Goshawk from the rounded tail.
Love the pelican, osprey, curlew, and heron

Cheers Ryu
I have only seen Goshawks once and Sparrowhawks 3 times and cant really tell the difference.
Unless its a front shot

Nice set. Its the age old debate, Brown Goshawk or Collard Sparrowhawk.
I like your Osprey shot the best.
Laza- everyone struggles seperating the 2 and that was just my opinion, I could be wrong.
I just wish they would make it one species- Brown Sparrowhawk or Collard Goshawk

Yes very good Ryu
As i said i havent seen them enough to make informed judgement.
I would have said when i first spotted him last weekend it was a Sparrowhawk but looking at that photo now i can see Goshawk
Best to have bet each way :)
