Wow, I was treated in science today after I managed to get outside in class to do some research on an area and it's surroundings when I saw a tiny bird calling it's little heart out at the top of a dead tree, I think it was a European Goldfinch as I beleive it had a Red face with black and yellow but a mssive white splotch on the side has thrown me off (or maybe that's it's belly). It was a tad larger than a thornbill and had a pleasant littles song. But it my photos say different as they show what I think is orange under the eye with grey on top and red on it's neck and orange underneath its wings, I cannot find any sound files fo a EU Goldfunch, but if anyone knows of a bird that looks like the description or knows where I might get a sound file for a EU Goldfinch it would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou, and apologies for the image quality, I couldn't do anyy better though.

Crikey Amateur,
From that photo I can harly tell if it's a bird, a burst balloon or a piece of tinsel caught in a tree! :D
.
But sounds interesting - it's always cool to see a new species of bird in your local area.

Hi Amateur,
I found audio of a goldfinch but it is a german site.
You have to click on the word " Stieglitz " on the bird list
in blue on the left.
When the bird picture comes up, click on " 33,9 kb to hear the bird song.
