THIS VERY BEAUTIFUL BIRD FLEW INTO OUR BACK YARD AT COOMERA, QLD, AUSTRALIA. LANDED BUT UNABLE TO WALK, (DEFORESTATION HAPPENING NEAR BYE), HIPS BROKEN. DIED 6HRS LATER. 5 YEAR OLD GRAND DAUGHTER VERY SAD THAT HER LOVE & BEST WISHES DIDN'T MAKE IT HEALTHY/ BETTER AGAIN, SHE IS ORGANIZING BURIAL/ FUNERAL FOR TOMORROW MORNING.

The poor little guy was a Buff-Banded Rail.
Very Beautiful bird, I have never seen one in the wild.
May I suggest that if you happen to stumble on any more injured little fellows, that you give your local wildlife centre a call.
They are equiped to deal with this sort of thing.
But by the sound of it, there wasn't much hope for the little fellow.
