These guys/gals live in the thicket, but can be seen foraging on the grass close or perching on fences close by. Any sight of people within about 10m and they retreat rapidly into the denser vegetation. Always short rapid flights.

Unless I'm wrong,
This is a juvenile Blackbird, changing into it's adult plumage. Sorry to say, they are an "introduced species", have a very negative effect on our native bird population.
