Eurobodalla ID help please

Hi
Can someone please help me identify a bird call I hear all the time. I live in the Eurobodalla on the NSW Far South Coast.
I haven't managed to record the real thing but do have a recording of me whistling a (fairly) good imitation. Trouble is I'm not sure how to upload it to this forum.

Obviously I need help on two fronts LOL ;^d #^)

A little more information. To replicate the tones on a piano I would play: C GGGG C to the cadence of - .... -

Any ideas?

Not much to go on, perhaps a grey shrike-thrush?
The biby birdfinder has recordings of calls you can check.

Yeah, I know. I have been through lots of the calls on the Birdfinder but haven't heard it yet.

If some clever person can tell me how to post a recording you would have a better idea of what I am asking. :^)

Some birds make a lot of different calls so recordings on the internet may not help, Another possibility is butcherbird, or maybe lyrebird. If you can whistle a good imitation it may be a butcherbird, to me they sound like a person whistling.

Thanks Greg. They are both probably too "musical" for my bird. Mine has definitely got only two notes and repeats the same tune about 15-30 secs apart when it gets going, usually in the morning (although not dawn) and late afternoon/early evening.

Hi shevyblue, bird calls can be very intriguing , if you can hear the bird, but not find it.I know the feeling. As I don't have a camera,I go out in the bush chasing sounds, book in hand, getting a stiff neck. After a while it drives you nuts.I have one bird in the bush behind my house,it has a "one note call", a very loud "GGGGGGGG",( on the piano) at various tempi! Any idea what it is? Might be the same as yours?

It's me again shevyblue, hope you bidn't think I was making fun of your musical description,my husband plays the oboe, and if you give him the notes , he can sing it. That doesn't mean, we know what bird it is !!
