No worries Wanda - and nice sighting! They are pretty cryptic birds, liking lots of understorey to hide out in.
Since you are in the Penrith area Wanda I assure you they are a very common species. :)
Hi Windhover, it is funny as I have always loved birds and any sort of wildlife especially frogs and reptiles but since finding this website I have noticed so many more birds and enjoy trying to find all my new finds on this site or in my bird book, I am so hooked now that I have my family on the look out and when they find something it is now Mum quick think there is a new bird in the garden grab the camera. :-)
Thanks forry2000, that is how I first found this bird, by its call and then I found it on the birdbath.
