Was in a "moist" eucalypt forest this afternoon when I came across this littl inquisitive bird. First I thought a Grey shrike thrush but it was too small.

Any ideas.

Also saw these guys.

Enjoy!

Could it be either a female or an immature Golden Whistler?
I was looking for the lemon colour under the tail area but can't really see it.

Well done on seeing such lovely little birds

That little white bit on the wing is typical of the female golden whistler. I had a good look at one a few days ago, V. similar to the shrike thrush but smaller and more grey. I couldn't really see the yellow bit under the tail on that one, I don't think its very easy to see. I think the female rufous whistler has little speckles on the breast.

I saw it again today and I think it is definitely a immature Golden Whistler.
