Hi everone,
this is my first visit here. We have had a large brown juvenile bird in our neighbourhood lately which is being fed by a currawong. I don't think the youngster is a currawong itself, as it is already much larger than the bird feeding it. It has a lot of cream/light brown/light grey on its neck, head and body, a different shaped beak, and black and white under its wings.
(I have no idea how to put in a photo, so hope this works).
I live in Ashfield, Sydney.
Any ideas what this could be?
Thanks in advance
Sorry folks - I can't work out the image thing. I give up.
It would be a cuckoo and yhe only one larger than a currawong that I know of is the Channel Billed Cuckoo.

Try this. http://www.birdsinbackyards.net/finder/display.cfm?id=55 I tried to post the photo but it didn't work.

Thanks Ray! That's the bird exactly!
