These Guys fly over a dozen times a year.
I have counted app 60 in the flock.
I have some very large Camphor Laurel trees next door to me.
Some of the flock will come down for a quick feed and continue on their way.
I have never seen them stay for more than half an hour.
And they will fly off if I approach them on foot.
But if I am already in the front paddock working and have my camera with me they will happily feed on the small black berries but with at least a 70 metre gap between us. .
I would like to know what they are.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Is this a type of Dove or Pigeon ?
Pic # 2
Hi Kell,
Nice photos of a Topknot pigeon.
I especially like the 2nd shot, clearly showing the white
horizontal bar, which makes identification in flight easy.

How lucky can you be, working where top knot bidgeons feed. Nice pics as well.

Hi al & bushanwater,
Thank you for your comments.
I have Googled topknot pigeon.
And have no doubt you are right.
I only saw one other Pic showing the open tail feathers.

I also have these, but they spend most of the time on the ground eating the black Camphor Laurel berries.
Thanks again al & bushanwater.
Cheers kell.
