Hello to all

We have been taking photos for a couple of years now (still not as good as we'd like to be) and this forum is great, wish I had found it before. Everyone is so helpful and supportive. Thanks to you all for your help with bird identifications so far, I'll help anyone I can and really appreciate the friendly help I've had so far. We live at Kingston (south of Brisbane) and try to go away in the caravan a bit to see what we can find in the bird population. Have done one trip around Australia and so far have photos of 270 different birds, still a lot to go isn't there? We have identified 45 different ones in our back yard so far - obviously includes the really common ones like magpies, crows, wilie wagtails etc, and we have a large population of Superb wrens and, at the moment, scarlet honeyeaters, double-barred finches and brown honeyeaters. They love the birdbath, but we don't ever feed them.

Hello to you Meave, you are wecome. What a life, around Australia...Wow, what a dream ! Lots of birds in your back yard. I just looked out my window, birds have started to be very active, because some of my native shrubs are almost starting to burst into masses of flowers. Looks like an other good breading season is coming!! Can't wait either!!

Nice to have you on board, Meave. If I remember rightly, you have the pale-headed rosellas in the bird box. Good on you! I think the habitat we've recreated on our place is mature enough now to support a wider range of young birds so it's probably time for me to put up some bird/bat/possum boxes. So, when I've finished fixing the old shed....
