Lake Cargelligo area

I went to Lake Cargelligo on Friday to explore the area for a long wekend visit next breeding season, plus Shorty has been getting a number of lifers and is narrowing the gap so I have to work on keeping ahead of him.

I had a good look around on Friday afternoon including the Lake C STW where i saw a White-winged Fairywren (male but not in good colour), 1 Red-necked Avocet, 2 Pectoral Sandpipers and 2 Red-capped Plovers. I also visited Whoey Tanks, Round Hill and Narromine (? spelling) Nature Reserves, Chat Alley, etc

The weather turned inclement on Saturday morning so after visiting Whoey Tanks again I found another road back to Parkes. in the light drizzle I had put my camera into the car when I heard and saw a flock of Yellow-throated Miners, and then 4 Bluebonnets flew in and then 6-8 Mulga Parrots.

2 lifers for the weekend - Grey-fronted Honeyeater and Ground Cuckoo-shrike
