Today I saw 2 & heard another 2 rainbow bee eaters heading north across our property. At least one was a juvenile. For our area this is the latest I've seen rainbow bee eaters. Presumably they were returning to the tropics although I couldn't see if they had their bags with them.

As I have not ever seen any, with or without bags, are you trying to tell me, they should have left earlier? Does that mean winter is coming soon?
I noticed today, the Grey Fantails have started to lay more eggs. The wrens and the Scarlet Robins are still at IT!
My dog had grown a wintercoat, but has started to loose it in huge clumps, (there is black hair all over the carpet), If you think winter is coming, I have to tell my dog, to grow it back quickly.
Maybe those bee eaters just happened to fly north to visit some friends down the road?
I need more evidence.

Usually the rainbow bee eaters have left our part of this great nation by late February so I'm wondering if there's something that's delayed their departure this year. Or perhaps they always depart from us at this time only from some other jumping off point. Maybe the week-long burst of humid weather we've had has been a factor.
It's interesting to hear of confusion within your menagerie about the time of year, Araminta. There have been reports that because of the milder than usual summer in the Mt Lofty Ranges many deciduous trees began changing to their autumnal outfits in late January, early February.
