Today I received the best birthday gift when i went walking in my very small local park... a pair of Powerful Owls. My first pictures of them.

Sorry, I should have said Blackman Park, Lane Cove, Sydney. Plenty of playing fields there but also some short bushwalks. Interestingly, the local council has been replacing the boardwalk right near these owls. A male Rose Robin also appeared briefly but could not get a picture this time.

Nice work Sue! Getting two is such a bonus.
I went back today with a friend and the owls were in the same tree thus making my friend's day. Managed a few pictures despite the smoke haze created by the 40 burn-offs in the Sydney Basin.
Wonderful to see such birds in our area.
