A keen birder mate rang me about a pair of Mistletoebirds he's spotted building a nest so I grabbed my gear and headed out to his place without any great expectations as it was blowing a gale.
A couple of shots with the Nikon D7200 and Nikon 300mm f4 plus 1.4T/C at ISO560, f6.3 at 1/640sec.
Nice! What sort of tree is that? I thought they would mainly build in gum trees.

Awesome. I am yet to see their nest. I would have expected them to build in Mistletoe, since they usually go from one to the next and it would offer then good cover...

Some sort of exotic. They spurned the nearby Eucalypts and Silky Oaks for this one.

There was plenty of mistletoe in the trees nearby.
