My Backyard First ... Spotted Pardalotes

I've only ever seen two individuals at the river a few streets away. Early this morning I heard a call which I didn't recognise, then saw a tiny bird hurtling in across the sky to land in the big Melaleuca tree in my backyard. Others followed. Ended up with a little family of 5 Spotted Pardalotes. The parents were flitting about the trees gathering food, each with an attendant child or two waiting to have some goodies stuffed down its beak. I just used my binoculars this morning but now I know they visit, I'll be better organised with the camera.

Yep, I get that. I only had 10 minutes to spare before heading off to work this morning and of course they didn't show. They'll be back and I'll be waiting for them.

I'm very interested in any stories. Hope you will find the time to take photos of them. Not an easy task, they are here one minute, and gone the next. They even build nests but don't use them, but then come back. I was lucky enough to get some good photos a few weeks ago, there were juveniles, but I haven't seen them since

Well, the family hasn't turned up yet but a singleton did ... except it was a Striated which I've never seen before so another first for me! 5am and overcast ... yes, this is a baaaaaad photo.
