I'm trying to identify this bird (location: south east Sydney) by its call. It starts up with the dawn chorus at around 5:30am (September) and can occasionally be heard throughout the day. It wakes me up every morning. Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt it, I just want to put a face to the sound. You'll have to turn the volume right up for the video.
I suspect It may be a red wattle bird. There are plenty of them around. It's not the loud "chock" call they are typically associated with, but I'm aware that they do make a variety of calls.
Possibly a juvenile red wattle bird, if it is its call will sound better as it gets older.
