I set a personal goal to reach to 300 species of birds by the end of 2016.
I am nearly there with 4 new species in the last 2 weeks taking me up to 297! (All in South QLD)
Horsfields Bronze Cuckoo (very bad photo so haven't added). Little Bronze-Cuckoo (taken at work), Restless Flycatcher (Also taken at work) and the pièce de résistance, a very photogenic Painted Snipe in perfect conditions.
I also added a photo of Whiskered Terns, while not a new species I liked the photo.
I do have a couple I am trying to target to get me to 300 all that are local.
Little Lorrikeets which I heard and briefly saw on Friday at Postmans track, but didn't get a photo.
White-Eared & Spectacled Monarchs which have been sighted in the Dayboro area.
Oriental Cuckoo which has been regularly spotted at Tinchi Tamba wetlands.
Spotted Quail-Thrush which has been sighted near the Mailmans track.
Little Bronze-Cuckoo @ Work
Restless Flycatcher @ work.
A very cooperative Painted Snipe
Whiskered Terns @ Samsonvale
Awesome, Devon. I'm sure you'll surpass 300, you've still got a few weeks. What were you on at the start of the year?

Thanks Birdy. I was on about 220 at the begining of the year, then had a big spell where I didn't do any birding. Bowra helped me get back up there.
Great stuff Dev and some lovely photos there
Dont take life too seriously, it never ends well
Thats a great total photographed just in SE Qld - good luck getting to the 300! Amazing that your workplace is still turning up new species for you too - do you know how many species you have seen there?
That is a great photo of the painted snipe. I agree about the terns of all varieties - they always provide good photos.
Great stuff Devo! Like that Painted snipe. My goal is to get 100 by the end of this month. Eight to go. My job easier than yours as I have more choices! Sure you will make it. Well done.
Fantastic effort, Devon. Wonderful shot of the Painted Snipe which I have yet to see.
I added a some new ones these past few days with a repeat trip to Julatten area. Queensland has a rich supply of birds nt seen in Sydney.
Good luck

Thanks guys.
Apparently the Painted Snipe has gone now. Hasn't been seen for 2 days. Glad I got it when I did.
WD I have seen and heard 90 species of birds at work including some odd ones like a Lathams Snipe and even a Jabiru.
Unfortunately I didn't see the Jabiru in person but the neighbour showed me of picture of it there over a weekend.
Thats why I always have my camera handy in case he ever comes back.
