Olympic Park Development Plans

Just heard more shocking news tonight that the beautiful area of Olympic Park is going to be ruined and turned into a future ghetto. Packing it with horrible high rise buildings. What a shame, I really enjoyed the large open spaces we could walk around in and the Australian wide open space theme it portrayed. Now it's just going to become another busy and overcrowded urban cite, just horrible. We need more natural open spaces in cities not less, who wants to live like a sardine packed in a can with traffic noise and pollution all around you, yuk.

Disastrously disappointing decision, doublebar. Having done your due diligence, I trust you are deluging the relevant departmental director & her/his minister with demands for a decent rather than doltishly dopey decision.

As Ms Woko says, most authorities abhor what they see to be a vacuum. If there's a space they have an obsession with filling it whether it's with a high rise development, a McDonald's, a nuclear waste dump, a sport complex or a shopping centre. The thought of peaceful, open space with the slightest leaning towards nature, is complete anathema to them.

Once the space has been filled with whatever they want it filled with they'll then conduct multimillion dollar enquiries into why the crime rate in the city is so high. Next they'll wonder why their budgets are in deficit. Duh!

So true it's a vicious cycle of abuse and destruction, destroy nature and give people stress and depression because they're locked in a concrete cage with a mortgage, build the ghettos that make people sick and then feed them the meds that make them sicker and poorer and keeps them living in the ghettos and in debt, that's their master plan.

For Australian birds, natives=life, exotics=death, so do them a favour and go plant some natives and save their lives.

I'm not sure it's a master plan, doublebar, partly because planning isn't their long suit. However, I have noticed that, in the main, our authorities lack the ability to see relationships between factors in our physical & social environment. They seem unable to make connections or understand cause & effect.
