Thought this sequence is interesting as both birds eventually puffed up, developed a flush and raised their tails... I assume it was a breeding ritual although it all came to nothing after a lot of chasing.

I didn't even know they had such colouring under the chin, nice to see, it's interesting to see different behaviour from time to time.

Thanks, guys. I think the blush in the last shot is enhanced by the sun shining through it but I was amazed by the change in size & shape of head & throat. This was the first time that I have witnessed the behaviour although plenty of breeding occurs in this area. Observation can be as rewarding as the photo.
