Problems loggin on

Hi Holly. I'm not sure if this problem is at your end or mine. After I load Birds in Backyards the "web" address which shows is http://101.128.5.33/~birdsinb/?q=forum rather than the usual web address of www.birdsinbackyards.net/. (I think this is related to Identity Safe in Norton Internet Security not automatically filling in my login details when I load Birds in Backyards but that might be another story). Are there other members who are having this problem?

aha!i was waiting for someone else to reply to this!i dont have any ideas why this is happening, but to access the webpage you need, just search it in the search box or in google (e.g. "birds in backyards forums" or "birdsinbackyards bird finder") if the i.p. adress thingy is blocking you from accessing the page you want to see.

however,i have no idea what to do about the logging in thing...

Hi guys

With the server transfer that happened on Monday there was a whole stack of redirects that had to happen and links that had to be fixed. All should be good now.

I am actually heading away for the weekend shortly (in about an hour) - so let me know ASAP if you are still having problems and I will get the web guys to investigate

Cheers

Holly

Hi Holly & Nathan. The problem turned out to be at my end. It was solved by flushing the DNS cache (whatever that is). If anyone experiences this problem (which meant that after I logged in & tried to click on forums I was taken to a blue "404 not found" page) let me know & I'll tell you how I solved it (with loads of help from Ms Woko).

Hi,I was getting the same blue 404 when I tried to open forums ,evrything opened except forums.... very anoying!!!

then Mrs sparrow said try opening it in chrome insted of mozilla firefox .Doh! three days and she fixes it in three seconds!

Don't you just hate that.

I hate it every time it happens, sparrow. Which is about 17 times a day. Still, it keeps me off the streets.

Glad the problem is fixed guys. I dont understand it all much but I think computers can store older versions of the sites - because BIBY moved servers it couldn't find the old page.

Anyway I am back online today so let me know of any issues I can look into for you
