I have a hand reared rainbow lorikeet who flies free during the day and comes home for meals and at night. She flies around with another bird regularly and comes down to play with us and our guests during the day. She is now sitting on her first clutch of 3 eggs and is staying home. Will the hatchings survive with the one parent. Is there something I should be doing. She is living on apples and "Lorri-Wet & Lorri-Dry".
I’d be inclined to let nature takes its course, Jamiesons. For the long term that would include providing natural habitat by planting indigenous species where possible rather than artificially feeding the birds.
