Red-backed fairywrens from The Common atTownsville

These guys are really difficult to photograph well because they are so dark and flit around constantly. I was so surprised when these ones decided to pose! Morning and afternoon shots.

Awesome images of a stunning bird! Unfortunately did not make an appearance for me when we visited the Gold Coast briefly where they should be present back in July

No matter what the colour, Fairywrens are always so beautiful and so hard to pin down for a pose :)

Well done

Dont take life too seriously, it never ends well

Lovely photos! The wrens are always moving around so fast that I find it so hard to get a good shot :P You must have been so excited when they decided to sit for you! Well done :)

Thanks for sharing.

These are great photos, such striking birds, when used to the Superb F Wrens.

Beautiful shots sue818. Its only when you try to take shots of these wrens you find out how difficult it is. Well done and thanks for sharing.

Thanks all. I was thrilled when the light was right and they sat still. The black eye in the black has always been difficult to get just right. The female hopped so close (almost onto my shoe) that she was too close! Normally they seem quite shy.

The Town Common at Townsville is a special place and I still have not explored it all so will just have to pack the bags again. sometime.
