Hi All,
I am wondering what ways others have of sharing the love of birds and our native environment with others.
How can we as individuals introduce people to the ideas of the interrelatedness of nature and how our very existence depends on keeping our natural world healthy and happy.

I just posted a related story under "Preaching to the converted", I hadn't seen your post here. Have a look at my story.

Hi Araminta,
I read your story on the other thread. Yes children are great learners when given the chance to learn and they learn so fast!
It is great to experience the wonder of a child learning to listen to nature.
When ever I come into contact with children I take what opportunities I can to share my love of nature with them. Adults are a bit harder to reach! Some adults that I know have never spent a moment in silence on their own. They are so busy doing, being, coming, going, they never just sit and listen to anything. It is sad. They are trapped in a prison of busyness and don't even know it.
Getting the message through that everything we do has an impact on the environment is much harder with adults, they tend to know the price of so much but the value of so little.
Though it is hard to get through to adults I will not stop trying and for those who I know who do appreciate the environment and and the wonders of our natural world I will keep company with them to keep my own wellspring of love alive.
Regards
Cheryl
