Almost looks like the one on the left has been rebuffed by one on the right and is gingerly slinking away :)

We call the Stilts Black-Winged Stilts up here do you call them White-Headed Stilts down there.
The Ibis definately looks like a Straw-Necked.

Yep the Darters feet certainly are big.
As I am very new to birding I have been using the names given in my Pizzey & Knight field guide book and they do list the Stilt as White-Headed as the primary name along with Pied or Black-Winged.
Thought so on the Straw-Necked Ibis, thanks to you and Rick for confirmation.
The Striated Heron was a bonus, don't ever recall seeing one before but amazing what you see & find when you are looking out for things. The last two months have really re-opened my eyes to how beautiful this part of the country is and sometimes we can forget that and take it all for granted.

Well they certainly fit all those catergories for the names.
Yep its a whole new world.
Whats even more fun is educating others (those that show any interest anyway) and seeing them light up or thinking of you when they see certain birds.
I have good friends that would never have even looked twice at a bird, but now they take pics and ask me about them.
It's such a delite when they do because I know I am helping people become more aware of the beauty of nature we co-exist with.
My wife & I had a lifelong friend with us on Sunday morning when most of the above shots were taken and she amazed at how I was spotting all the different birds and pointing them out to her. By the end of the morning I am sure she got just as much enjoyment out of the birding as I did. As you say it is a delite.
