I'm new... been using the bird finder for a long time, somehow missed the fact that there was a forum here.
I live on the southside of Brisbane, and one of my favourite haunts has been Daisy Hill Forest. (I usually access it from the Springwood end)
Notable birds regularly spotted there -
Rufous Fantail
Grey Fantail
Eastern Yellow Robin
Laughing Kookaburra
Brown Cuckoo-Dove
Pale-Headed Rosella
Red-Browed Finch
Yellow-Faced Honeyeater
Azure Kingfisher
Variegated Fairywrens
Red-backed Fairywrens
King Parrots
I recently spotted a pair of Pacific Bazas (Crested Hawk). Unfortunately I haven't encountered them on subsequent trips, but they really were beautiful to watch while they stuck around.
There are also the very friendly wallabies that can be found grazing in the open play/lunching areas. Spotted more than a few mothers with joeys as well. :)
Hope this is of some interest. :)

Welcome, love to hear stories of sightings, and may be see some pics. Nice range of birds.

Great to hear about the wildlife diversity in your favourite bird watching spot, windshear. I checked out Daisy Hill Forest on Google Earth. There seems to be reasonable areas of bushland in that area. Let's hope it remains intact.
Thanks for the welcome! Thought I would share some pics taken on site.
A rather miserable-looking Grey Fantail. (I wasn't enjoying the rain particularly either)
Eastern Yellow Robin. (they're quite friendly)
Parent kookaburra bringing a frog back to its nest.
This wallaby must've had a hard day and was having a bit of a sit down.
Pale-headed Rosella.
Nice pics thanks

Welcome, I haven't been to that section of Daisy Hill Park yet, I have been to the 1 off Mt Cotton Rd; you just have to love the Pale-headed Rosella

Welcome!! What a beautiful spot Daisy Hill Forest sounds like. Thanks so much for sharing your lovely pics too - just love the Kooky with his lunch (frog) in his mouth & don't you just love the way wallabies so "elegantly"
choose to relax sometimes - you'd think that would be uncomfortable for them with all that tail/muscle, but obviously not?
Hope you enjoy the site, and keep posting pics of your sightings when you can!
