Look who came to dinner!!

Nothing to do with birds, but just as endearing, was this little fellow who invited himself to dinner last night on a friend's veranda( here in Buderim,on the Sunshine coast)He came along quite openly and was making his way for the cats bowl. We decided after observing him for a 1/2 hour that he had definitely been to this buffet before!

Apologies for the quality as it was just taken with my phone. I think he is a Mountain Brush Tail.

He was very entertaining

Just thought I'd share this with you
Cheers

Through a series of events (long story) we sometimes fed a chuditch(Western Quoll) scraps of meat left from our dinners occasionally. We left said meat/bones by the back sliding door and he would come in and take the offerings even when we where there watching. We actually havent seen it for months and months so we dont know if he's still around. We known about him for about 7 yrs so old age may have caught up with him.

Imagine our suprise when on night he turned up and ate the chicken bones!

Brush-tailed Possum.

Wow Daggert! I've always wanted to see a Quoll in the wild! And you've seen this guy for 7 years!

Just out of concern, and only because I spent 8 years working in Vet Clinics and have seen how badly this affects dogs, but I'm wondering if the chicken bones are cooked or raw? When dogs eat raw bones, they can easily digest them, but cooking bones changes them making them harder to digest and they normally pass through as splinters and shards. Most times the dog will be fine, but every now and again the bones cause obstructions leading to further difficulties, and if shards can perforate the intestines as they pass through leading to possible life threatening situations.
.
Just a concerned animal lover. ;^)
