Spring Life

So happy the Rufous Fantails have arrived in the Blue Mountains!! My favourite. Also heard the first Channel-billed Cuckoo here on 2nd October. Cicadas are coming up now too.

I now have another bird on the list for spring: an Eastern Koel seen this afternoon (13th October). I'll add that stormbird does seem an apporopriate name: the day I see them arrive it storms!

Sights and sounds of Spring warm my heart too Owl of Kedumba.  Hearing lots of Cuckoo's here in Tas, the Striated Pardalotes have been here for weeks, saw some baby Tas Thornbills just the other day and saw my first big fat Dragonfly skimming over the river too - have seen a couple of smaller ones, but I imagine the first few are being picked off pretty quickly.  It's great to see isn't it?

That's right AnnieJ always a great time of year - except when the temperature drops and suddenly you have snow and rain and everything's hiding! That's the story this week. But at least it will bring the frogs when it warms up!
